Rev: 2025.12
Summary
Injectable estrogen ester, typically injected every 5-7 days

DESCRIPTION

Estradiol Valerate (EV) is an esterified form of estradiol commonly used for intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. The valerate ester slows release from the injection site, allowing for less frequent dosing. It has a half-life of approximately 4-5 days.

DETAILED NOTES

Injection (IM)

Standard intramuscular injection into thigh (vastus lateralis) or glute (ventrogluteal). Use 22-25g needle, 1-1.5 inch length. Rotate injection sites. Levels peak at 1-2 days and decline, consider more frequent lower doses for stability.

Injection (SubQ)

Subcutaneous injection into belly fat or thigh. May have slower absorption than IM but equally effective. Use smaller needle (25-27g, 0.5-0.625 inch). Less painful, easier to self-administer. Some prefer splitting doses for more stable levels.
